Plants, Supplies and Garden Art When I visit a new area, one of the most interesting things for me to do is visit garden centers, nurseries, and garden-inspired shops. I'm looking for unusual varieties of plants that will make visitors to my garden green with envy. Quality tools and equipment to make my gardening more efficient catch my eye. I seek out soil amendments as well as insect and pest management products that may make my garden look its best. Pretty garden accessories and outdoor art objects are sure ways of getting my attention. According to the latest Gardening Trends Report conducted by Garden Writers of America, on average, consumers planned to send over $770 on their yards and gardens this year. Thirty nine per cent of consumers use container gardens to decorate outside of their homes. Native plants and organic gardening are growing trends. While many consumers purchase spring garden plants from mass merchandisers, specialized locally-owned garden centers continue to flourish. In addition to their expertise, unique plant selection and great customer service, they usually have fabulous gardens showcasing their personal favorites. |
